Lizette had earned her first degree in accounting with distinction from the Catholic University Institute Buea, CUIB. Her family was planning to send her abroad to further her studies. Every necessary arrangement had been made to this effect until the outbreak of coronavirus that triggered most countries to close their borders. Lizette, probably, was just waiting for the day the deadly Coronavirus will finally leave the earth to make her dream to travel and further her education abroad possible. Little did she know that she was going to quit the stage before coronavirus under very unfortunate circumstances.
This is the story of young, beautiful and promising 21-year-old Lizette who was killed and dumped in her friend’s boyfriend room. Her lifeless body was found on May 24, 2020 at a state of decomposition with her hands tied behind in a students’ hostel at the “Limbe quarters” neighborhood in Buea. Reports say her vagina and her breasts were cut off by the perpetrators of the heinous act.
A source close to the family of the deceased says Lizette was in Yaoundé, capital city of Cameroon, with her family relatives. She later left for Buea to visit her mother, but diverted to her friend’s boyfriend room where she had lived until her doom, without the knowledge of her family. Her body was only found 5 days later in an advanced decomposition state.
Unconfirmed reports hold that Lizette had been dating two guys, one abroad and the other in Cameroon. Her boyfriend in Cameroon after discovering that she has been cheating on him could not hold his temper. The only way he could get over his predicament was by taking Lizette’s life, which he did.
One person suspected to be behind the dead of Lizette has been apprehended and being investigated.
It should be noted that this is not the first time a girl is killed in Buea under similar circumstances to that of Lizette. On June 2017 a certain 24-year-old Adele was killed by her boyfriend. Adele was a linguistic student at the University of Buea. Her killer boyfriend was arrested two days after the act.
